Children’s Homes Voted One of Triad’s Best Places
To Work

November 01, 2006

THOMASVILLE – Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) was a finalist in the Triad Business Journal’s annual “Best Places to Work” competition. BCH was recognized at a recent awards ceremony in High Point. The agency, dedicated to serving children and families, finished in the elite final four of the “charitable nonprofits” category.

“To be recognized as a finalist is a high honor,” says BCH president Michael C. Blackwell who accepted the award. “Providing a happy and healthy work environment is a high priority. I value our staff and appreciate their daily efforts to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Finalists for the competition were selected based on responses from anonymous employee feedback surveys. The rules required at least 70% participation from BCH’s 120 Triad area employees. Survey questions were related to management effectiveness, work environment and people practices. Quantum Market Research, an agency that conducts surveys across the nation, accessed the surveys to determine the finalists.

BCH’s state administration offices and Mills Home residential campus in Thomasville, and group homes for developmentally disabled adults in Winston-Salem comprise BCH’s Triad area services.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families in crisis. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in communities across the state.
