Slaughter Joins Baptist Children’s Homes Staff
April 04, 2007
T.J. Slaughter has joined Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) in Thomasville as the institution’s Foundation and Corporate Grants Coordinator.
Slaughter is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He has received nonprofit management certification from Duke University and grants administrator certification from the University of North Carolina’s School of Government. Prior to joining BCH, he worked as Executive Director for the Lexington Housing Community Development Corporation in Lexington.
In his position at BCH, Slaughter is responsible for researching, contacting and writing proposals to foundations and corporations to secure funding for the institution’s statewide locations. A nonprofit organization, BCH depends on the generosity of these entities, individuals and other groups for its financial support.
“It's a blessing to be part of the BCH family and its ministries,” Slaughter stated. “It is my hope that any contributions I make will impact the lives of the children and families we serve in North Carolina.”
Slaughter lives with his wife Lillian and daughter Kathryn. He has lived in Lexington for the past 25 years.
Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in communities across the state.
