WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Ride to Clyde provides motorcyclists the opportunity to engage with children, teens, and adults with intellectual/developmental needs that receive care and compassion through the ministry of the Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH). Riders enjoy a three-day trip across North Carolina stopping to visit various facilities where BCH is engaged in ministry. Depending upon the route chosen, riders typically travel over 450 miles across the state.

HOW DO I RAISE FUNDS?

Prior to the ride, participants raise funds for Baptist Children’s Homes. Some riders encourage sponsors to provide a donation based on the miles they ride while others simply ask for donations of various amounts. All proceeds from the Ride to Clyde go to provide care and compassion for individuals served by Baptist Children’s Homes. Donations may be made securely online in advance of the Ride to Clyde by visiting the giving page.

WHAT ARE THE ROUTES?

Ride to Clyde offers a choice of two different routes. Riders can choose to ride towards BCH's Broyhill Home location in Clyde beginning in the East or beginning further West.

Those riding from East towards Clyde will begin their journey at NC Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell located on Oak Island. From there, they will travel West with stops at either Cameron Boys Camp or Camp Duncan for Girls on Thursday. On Friday, riders will visit Mills Home in Thomasville and then travel to the Lake Junaluska Conference Center to meet up with the group riding in from the West. The combined groups will ride into Broyhill Home together on Saturday morning.

Those riding from the West towards Clyde will begin their journey at Truett Camp and Conference Center located in Hayesville, NC. From there, they will travel East with stops at Moody Home in Franklin on Thursday. On Friday, riders will have the flexibility to visit a variety of different homes and facilities, including, but not limited to:  Alverta Bolick Home in Asheville, Care House in Lenoir, facilities in Zionville or others, depending upon the routes the groups chose that day. Friday ends with these groups joining those travelling from the East, at Lake Junaluska Conference Center. The combined groups will ride into Broyhill Home together on Saturday morning.
