The North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry (NCBAM), BCH’s statewide program that serves the needs of frail aging adults, marked its fifth anniversary in November 2014. NCBAM’s state-of-the-art Call Center fields more than 350 calls per month requesting help. There are 15,000 volunteers and service providers who stand ready to meet those needs. NCBAM has connected more than 2,000 aging adults to volunteers who have built them wheelchair ramps, has mobilized 1,243 Baptist volunteers to install free smoke alarm detectors, and has distributed more than 16,000 prescription management Red Bags.
