Accreditation creates more opportunities with Oak Ranch's horses

Oak Ranch Equine program was accredited by the Council of Accreditation for Children and Family Services

Oak Ranch Family Care resident Aileen shares a smile with her son Samuel as he sits atop Crystal, one of the ranch’s horses. Samuel is the first resident to ride since the program was accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services (COA). COA is an independent, not-for-profit agency that accredits private and public organizations serving children and families throughout the United States and Canada.

COA’s approval of Oak Ranch’s equine program means the mothers and children living there can have greater interaction with the ranch’s horses. Oak Ranch in Broadway offers two Family Care homes for hard-working single mothers and their children. Baptist Children’s Homes’ (BCH) Family Care program gives the mothers the opportunity to reestablish their lives so they can move their families into a successful independent living environment while still parenting their children.
