BCH began a ministry to support college students who have aged out of foster and residential care systems. HOMEBASE operates out of the former Baptist Student Union building on the campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee. The outreach provides aid to students as they tackle higher education goals as well as everyday life. Studies have shown that only two to nine percent of students who age out of foster care graduate from college.
