INTELLECTUAL & DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

Every person is created in the image of God.

At Baptist Children’s Homes, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not defined by limitations, but by inherent value, dignity, and unique purpose.

we believe —

Through our Special Needs (IDD) ministry, we provide Christ-centered residential support where individuals are known, encouraged, and empowered to live meaningful lives within a caring community.

A HOME, NOT A FACILITY

Promoting dignity and growth.

Our IDD ministry provides family-style living environments designed to foster stability, independence, and connection. Rather than institutional settings, we prioritize safe, structured homes where individuals receive personalized care from trained and compassionate staff.

We believe that the people we serve thrive when they feel at home, not just housed. That means real kitchens, real bedrooms, real routines, and real relationships with the staff who walk daily life with them.

Support may include:

  • Alternative family living homes
  • Personalized care plans
  • Daily life skills development
  • Advocacy and coordination of services
  • Emotional and spiritual encouragement

Independence grows within relationship. By providing consistent structure and individualized support, we help adults develop confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging.

For the families who love them

Strengthening individuals, supporting families.

Families caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities often carry significant responsibility. Our ministry partners with families by providing dependable residential support and peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are cared for with compassion and excellence.

But this ministry is more than supervision. It is community.

Because the gospel affirms the value of every life, our commitment is not simply to provide services, but to honor, uplift, and walk alongside each person entrusted to our care.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)
